v0.7.3 Update

Just finished working on Force Change of some things on click...
eg.Click on Strength and change it from 15 to 13....and so on...
I still need to finish few things for this version and then I will upload it...!
What is troubling my mind. · Sep 5, 2003, 1:16 AM

After updating version 7.3 I thought a lot.
From the beginning no one told me that program is good, useful, and that they use it when they play ADnD 2E, or just that it has potential…
I don’t know does anyone care is this program going to be finished or not.
Anyhow, I am going to change Weapon proficiencies form and if it looks good, then I will change Nonweapon proficiencies form in addition, add inventory and maybe some useful generator…
When all of that is finished I will make v1.0 and that is it…
If somebody has to say something, say it quick.
I don’t have time for this project. I want to gain knowledge of something new like Direct X (new for me).
This project is only slowing me down, and as much I want to make it perfect, I want to finish it as quickly as possible.

If there is any fan out there, please respond, that would make me feel much better about this project, and maybe then I would change my mind about bringing this project to an end. After all this project made me start programming in VB, it is my baby…but this baby is all grown up and maybe has to leave…

Downloaded version 0.7.8 and here are my comments:

- I know, you said you PM'ed me, I still haven't gotten it. Maybe you could resend it or something. Better yet, post a reply to this message. (Don't delete this one, mind you.)

- Experiance is spelled experience.
- Multiclassed characters follow different Saving Throw Charts. I could send them to you if you want them.
- I find it relatively amusing to be able to choose my Saving Throw Chart if I create a Single Classed character.
- Get some good pictures from places such as these:
Kirith.com
Some French Site or even from TSR's Archive
- Get some good dice pictures. Mayhaps you could try the Wizards of the Coast site
- Add spells (I have the documents, just tell me if you're interested and I'll send 'em your way)

Based on the number of downloads, I'd say you have created a very good program. Although I would like to be able to save my characters to a seperate file, so that I could view them at my own leisure.

I moved previous ADnD-DMU Forum here: GS Games & Team Projects -> ADnD-DMU
I don't know did you see that. But you can post your comments here too.

I found 3 experiance errors and I've fixed them.

Torack wrote:

Sure...you can send them to filedino@vip.hr.
Saving Throw part of my project is kind of old, and maybe I will remake it.

Torack wrote:

I've programed that a long time ago, and I didn't know how to make Saving Throws. I need all the help I can get with Saving Throws.

I don't know...I will posably remove all the curent pictures I have and try to find a site with FREE pictures, that I can use in my project so it can be legal. I've heared that someone was sued becaose he used pictures from other artists and put them in his program (I did the same... :-? ).

Torack wrote:

I did just that and E-mailed them : "Can I use your dice pictures..."

Torack wrote:

I will add them sooner or later...so you can send them.

I'll see what can I do about it.

Can I ask you more questions related to ADnD if I need help ?

Absolutely. I'll add my MSN, AIM, ICQ and Yahoo accounts to my profile. I'm usually available during the weekends.

As it would seem I have bad luck when it comes to PM's and e-mails. I received neither. So I suggest other then the chat-programs, we stick to the forum you posted. I'll post this message there aswell.

Answer from the Wizards of the Coast:
Dear Dino....Sorry...you can't use pictures from our web-site.
I am asking my self : "What is such a big deal ? Like I can't go buy dices and foto them ? Like they own them..."
I hate the people today..."the program is FREEWARE, I wount make any money from it...don't you understand...your name will be in the Credits section...click...!"
I better stop talking...

Is anyone still working on this program?

This program is on the pause, because of low interes, copyright problems...

If anyone wants the source code, I can upload it.
Maybe in near future I can finish inventory.

I lost a lot of time making this program, and I ask my self is anyone using it at all?
If I knew that someone is using the program and someone is waiting for the next version, I would contine the work on it !

Then me telling you that I use it, is enough?

I am happy to hear that.

So you can tell me, is it worth making inventory ?
I believe I can make it in a week, but I am not shure shuld I do it.
Do you know anyone else using the program?

I recommend it to a tonne of people

I wish it had some more/alternate options though.

It's too rigid, as of yet.

It was my first Visual Basic project, so the code is bad. If I started working from the scratch, the program would be and look 10 times better. I worked alone on the project so I didn't have many ideas from other people. I didn?t plan on making the program adjustable to the DM's.
And the biggest problem of all is that I don?t get anything working on that project. The time is passing by me and another freeware project would only slow me down. I hope you understand what I mean.

I can only say that I will finish the project, but not in near future because I don't have time. I have about 3 projects that I have to finish this year. And one of those projects is going to have a big influence on my future, so I am all into that project.

When I am done with that, I will finish ADnD DMU and I will ask you for ideas and guidance, if you are willing to help. We can even talk about this project on some chat one day! I want to hear what you like/dislike!

Do you still play 2E?
Have you noticed any bugs in the program?
#2238
Ofcourse I do. Tonnes of people do.

Anyway, here's a current list of issues (Using 0.7.8, couldn't download the latest version):

- Can't delete characters or players
- Can't change age/height/weight
- Constitution hitpoints are not added to total
- Experience is still spelled experiance (Both can be found under the Add Experiance section. I do believe you fixed this before.)
- Can still choose my own Saving Throw charts. Should be fixed.
- Racial ability bonusses/penalties aren't applied.
- Class weapon restriction isn't implemented
- The program's generally slow to respond to mouseclicks.
- You might want to try and get the level-up to work all-in-one

Things I would like to see:
- More methods for character generation(rolling)
- Weapon specialization

Also, I just went over some of the pictures that are included in the program...and I have just two issues with them:
a) WHAO! They are really good!
b) Why aren't they in the program. I looked and couldn't find them. :(

I will see what I can do.
I probably wanted to use the pictures but forgot or something....!
