Game Design Document
REVISION 1
Goal: To create an easy and simple looking game with allot addictiveness!

? Long island surrounded with sea[/list:u]
[list]Game modes
Single Player. Two sides to choose from on the beginning. Minimum of 10 maps with a few different environments.
Easy / medium / hard. Randomly generated map.
Over LAN using TCP/IP protocol. For no more then two players.[/list:u]
[list]In-game: Maps
- Earth ground (grass included);
- Sandy (beaches);
- Ice (near mountains)
- Destructible
- Small tree giving low resources;
- Normal tree without leaves and some trenches giving mid res.;
- Normal tree giving max res.
- Indestructible
- Unwalkable (map edges and similar)
- Unwalkable (some / not all map edges and small lakes)
- A place where you can build a gold mine
- Walkable until goldmine built
- Limited resources[/list:u]
[list]In-game: Buildings
- When upgraded, gives you more buildings to build; upgrades costs lots of gold:
upgrade 1: Ability to build "Soldier: Small Axe"
upgrade 2: Ability to build "Soldier: Long sword"
upgrade 3: Ability to build "Soldier: Big Axe"
upgrade 4: gives you ability to build a wooden wall
upgrade 5: Ability to build "Soldier: Long sword + Shield"
upgrade 6: Ability to build "Soldier: Big Axe + Shield"
upgrade 7: Ability to build "Soldier: Barbarian with two swords"
upgrade 8: ...
- When destroyed, game over! (your people don?t have a place to eat and who to serve - this is only for a story)
- Place wherever you want in distance of 300px away from nearest building
- You must build a home for your soldiers
- There can live 2 soldiers in each one
- Each upgrade gives you something new to the house;
upgrade 1: there can live 3 soldiers, they are all little stronger
upgrade 2: they are all little more stronger
upgrade 3: they are all little more stronger but they cost more
upgrade 4: healed when back to their homes
upgrade 5: there can live 5 soldiers
- When a soldier that lives in that house dies on a battlefield, new one is created automatically if you have enough gold and turned on an option for autobuy soldiers. It takes 15sec to create a new one!
- Next to the house will be a small white flag showing two numbers.
1st one: number of soldiers in the house
2nd one: house level
- Ability to choose which soldier types are going to live there, depends on Main Castle upgrades.. described above!
- Place wherever you want in distance of 300px away from nearest building
- You must build a home for your workers
- There can live 2 workers in each one
- Each upgrade gives you something new to the house;
upgrade 1: cut frees faster
upgrade 2: cut frees faster, dig gold faster
upgrade 3: cut frees faster, dig gold faster, walk faster
upgrade 4: cut frees faster, dig gold faster, walk faster, costs more
upgrade 5: cut frees faster, dig gold faster, walk faster, there can live 3 workers
- If worker dies, new one is created automatically if you have enough gold and turned on an option for autobuy. It takes 30sec to create a new one!
- Next to the house will be a small white flag showing two numbers.
1st one: number of workers in the house
2nd one: house level
- All you need to build it is wood and small amount of gold
- Does not require being in the range of nearest building
- Cannot be upgraded, workers are the one to be!
- Place wherever you want in distance of 300px away from nearest building
- They are made of wood
- Unwalkable
- Easy to destroy but helps with some tactics[/list:u]

- Proficiencies:
Walk speed = 15 (/2 if holding something)
Cut tree speed = 10
Dig gold speed = 10
Holding items = 5
Ability to fight = False
Attack damage = 0 (max 1 if able)
- All can be / is changed depending on a house upgrade level
- When they are given an order to cut a tree they return and continue on nearest one
- All items they are holding are delivered to the Main Castle
- Other variables
Health = 100
Sight = 190px (for minimap, showing enemies on it)
Cost = 10 + (upgrade level * 5)
- Proficiencies:
Walk speed = 10
Attack speed = 1 per sec
Attack damage = 5
Shielded = false
Shield damage = -2 from attack
Ability to fight = True (non-changeable)
- All this stats visible in upgrade menu (house)
- Other variables
Health = 120
Sight = 200px (for minimap, showing enemies on it)
Cost = 20 + (upgrade level * 10)
- Soldier types differs with some proficiency stats[/list:u]
[list]In-game: User Interface
- On the right so the playing area stays cubic size
- Showing random stats if nothing selected
- In the hud (bottom-right)
- Always showing full map
- ..with all the buildings and units shown as little blue dots (small and big).
- Enemies are shown the same way, colored red and visible only if in range of a local building / soldier sight
- Showing house current upgrade level and what's new in the next one
- Also showing soldiers / workers living in it with their info
- if there's a free slot you can pick a soldier to live there
- Showing his stats
- Commands
- Always on the bottom above the minimap
- When clicked, options are shown in the hud:
Save Game & Quit (it saves all the info from campaign because there's no other way to remember player's game; 10 slots)
Quit to Menu
Exit Game
- Some info like Time played and similar..
- Trees in castle
