First version is comming today! I have some problems registring truevision3d.dll file on other computers (automatically, does anyone know the command in VB to register some dll using regsrv32)

I have a car, you can drive it all around the landscape...
I'll be back in 2 hours with first download version, and i'll make a new forum for this game, for all discussions..........

Miskec, wait a little with mapeditor, more info in 16:30h

Another question! Will the game have multiplayer? I would like to know, so i can arrange menus accordingly. BTW, I'll send an e-mail to plus hosting if they can give us 50mb of space and a nsl domain name. Wish me luck :)

Personally, I think we should start with 2D and expand to 3D if we have the time. Best to concentrate on the game play and content, I think.

I'll make a few 2-plane trees in .x format and upload them to your folder.

Later!

FINALY:
Version 0.1.20

I added the setup for the game to register those truevision dll's...
You need DirectX 8.1 or better!

I think we don't need a tree mesh, I can use 2 plate meshes (1st to 0degrees, 2nd one to 90degrees)... alphablend it to 70%...
Make it if you want, i'll implant it in notime

Hi all,

I have completed 3 trees. They are each made of two planes which intersect at a 90 degree angle. If all goes well, the transparency is already built in by 3d Studio Max using the alpha channel image provided in the zip file.

The trees are in nitro's folder on my server.

Great! Can you give me the link to the file? (Nitro's folder)
I'm planning to implant those trees tonight..

A few news from my side:

I've arranged to have original soundtrack in the game. The band playing it is called 'Contra Dekorum'. I've got 7 songs from them. I'll upload their MP3 files to my server today.

Soundtrack for the game, Cool!

If anyone needs this PlugIn to load and save .dds(DirectX Textures) for Photoshop, here it is:
http://download.nvidia.com/developer/NV ... te/dds.8bi
Requirements:
You will need to place the plug-in (dds.8bi) in C:\Program Files\Adobe\photoshop\plug-ins\file formats and these required dlls (msvcr71.dll and msvcp71.dll) in your Windows\System folder.

Mmm, Nice for wallpaper! Can you put the text a few pixels up, windows start menu is in the way of text!?
Nice text style for the Title of the game (to put in the game).

Question:
Should I develop a Graphical menu? It's not a problem to draw it...

My vision of the menu:

First after the splash screen you have to load your profile.
There would be a list of existing profiles, and a 'Create new profile' option.
We could implement a pasword for every profile (as an option)

Main menu:

-Campaign
-Single Race
-Multiplayer ???
-Load profile
-Options
-Credits
-Exit

Campaign menu:

-Race
-Garage
-Save game
-Load game
-Back to main menu

... ANY COMMENTS ??? ...

Menu options are OK, but I think "Load Profile" should be changed with "Profile"...and there you can change profiles and view statistics of the currently selected profile (Races, Victories, Looses, Money, Car....)

I like the new picture but I think the text "No Speed Limits" should be brighter, it is kind of dark...or it is just my monitor that is dark?

Hello All,

I just wanted to ask what the current status on this project is. I will be leaving Germany in mid November and will not have access to my PC until late December. If there is anything you need from me for that time, I really need to know now.

Good luck on the rest of your projects. I'm even learning C++ and Visual Basic 6 myself now. :)

Later,

David

Hi, first of all I want to say that we are sorry for being so unprofessional

I'll finish that game later this year, I have no time and right equipment(new PC) yet. And i found a new job working as a game programmer for some game dev studio.
But feel free to come back "late December", I promise you that we're going to finish this game! (no mater how it looks, just to finish it) and thanks for all your time taken on this project!!! I cannot thank you enough.
I have just one request, to leave those NSL files that you made on your server.

QUOTE: I'm even learning C++ and Visual Basic 6 myself now
Wow, big move! I recommend you to leave VB6 if you starting C++ (c++ is much more better)

Thanks,
Edi B.

Hello all!

I came to announce re-activation of this project! With little changes though!

NEWS:
- Game name changed to "Zombie Madness"
- It's a sequel of Zombie Driver in some (strange) way
- you can figure out the rest fo yourself ;)

THINGS WE NEED TO FINISH IT:
- One Zombie model (it would be cool to see it animated but not required)
- Some crazy menu graphics
- Copy all car phisycs from Zombie Driver, and other game rules
- Add few cool additions (bonuses, weather effect, ...)
- ... that should be all ...

You can exprect first updates as soon as we finish Zombie Driver!

Cya soon and wish us luck! ;)

Hey guys :)
'm back on the board! :)

Dino told me about this idea, and i think it's great!

Here are a few ideas:

-Use a car that looks like ones in the Carmageddon. Mean!
-Redraw the sky textures so it looks like apocalypse hit earth
(dark, black clouds, and dark glowing red sun...) ;)
-Use some death metal soundtrack...

The atmosphere of the game would be original! And with a litlle marketing and promotion the game would sell nicely... :)

just my 0.02$

@David (this is a copy&paste prom PM I have sent you)
As for Zombie Madness, I don't know for help.. we are starting on that project when we finish Zombie Driver (soon). We may only need a few models (animated zombies and something - don't know what yet )

Do you have a car model like the one we are using currently? actualy, we need a texture but don't know how to make one that will fit the model ?

THANKS FOR ALL!!! REALLY!!!

-- EDIT --

FEW NEW IDEAS:
- powerup: helicopter blades
Comes out of the car's roof, 3 of them. Each one with it's own health variable.. good for bloodbath
- powerup: Side Swiss knifes ;)
- effect: some blood goes on camera/screen and fades out in bloodbaths
- effects: skidmarks, smokes, fire, ...
- gameplay: game starts with 2 minutes till earth destruction (whatever).
each time you pick a checkpoint time gets extended for cca 15sec!

thanks to Igor {J.B}
